Trinity United Church of Christ finds its heritage in the Evangelical and reformed church of North America. Trinity came into being as a result of the merger of St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church and St. Peter's Evangelical and Reformed Church in 1945. Trinity affiliated with the United Church of Christ when the Evangelical and Reformed denomination merged with the Christian-Congregational denomination in 1959. As a denomination the United Church of Christ emphasizes the freedom and independence of each local congregation. At Trinity, our members embrace a wide diversity of beliefs and we respect the right of the individual believer's conscience. Yet there is a unity in our fellowship, for we believe that we are united by our faith in Jesus Christ and we believe that our differences add to the richness and strength of our life together.xx
